The art showcase was this week. It was actually the first time i had seen my whole concentration together. It was cool seeing the bones I created work together in a cohesive body, creating a full skeleton. My vision actually came together. Now i just need to photograph everything..

All day baby, all day

AAAAAlrighty so my skeleton is almost complete. I next have to make a pelvis out of metal and pray that my skull and jaws do not break/ crack in the kiln! I decided I will be raku-ing my bones instead of pit firing them all due to some very small and delicate pieces that could be broken during a barrel firing. wish me luck!

So i think with y extra time I am going to make another skull. I think i want to have a few different personalities with the body I am making. The first skull was PETE, the next one im thinking will be named Jose' or Javier or something saucy.
I also have to making a pelvic bone. Like hips and such. I am planning on Using metal to make that as well like I did with the Rib Cage!

well the Ides of March and spring break are upon us. we still have a regular deadline even though we are deprived of a week in class to work during the break. because of this I gotta do some major work during the break. I decided that starting another skull would be the safest and easiest over the break because i just made one and the design and process is fresh in my mind. I also may make a pelvic hip bone out of metal during the break. i don't know exactly how i will go about doing this yet but its going to be sick

Alright my peepers of panakova its now time to complete my skull with a jaw. The skull has severe dental problems with only about nine teeth. The jaw will share the same problems but I'm thinking of removing portions of it like it was removed because of an invasive cancer. we put such terrible things into our bodies that do so much damage its amazing. Things like chewing tobacco for example, ruin faces, mouths, and lives. I want to make people feel uncomfortable when they look at this piece of art work because the idea of putting that shit in you body ten times a day should make you uncomfortable too.

So the skull is almost done. now I just need to tie it into my concentration of damaged/diseased/deformed body parts. i was thinking of some sort of skull trauma. You know, like a blow to the cranium is what killed them. I will have to carefully re create an injury of my own. Instead of just firing the skull and literally breaking it, I will have to sculpt a break intentionally.

Broseff man

So! I am almost finished with my two art pieces for this month. I just have a few adjustments to make on my metallic rib cage by just adding one last set of ribs to the botto that will bend upwards towards the sternum like the real thing. Last class I took measurments and was able to study a 3 D human skull model like this one in the picture. I was able to perfect the ratios and angle of the bones of the face. They both are lookin pretty primus.

dude dude DUDE

Ok so the skull is slowly but surely making its way. so far it still looks like a hunk of clay. BUT im just taking my time i guess. Anyways, while I do that IN class OUTside of class I am going to be welding a life sized rib cage to go along with my legs and arms. My younglife leader is actually a pretty sick welder and he is going to help out! jacked. he has made some art of his own and things like a funcitonal metal coffee table for this living room. I am going to use old rusted up metal scraps. Hopefully i will find some old car parts or gears or stuff like that

Roll the bones baby

Yo ok. so I decided that I am going to TRY to scuplt a human skull and jaw bone (mandible) and weld a rib cage out of scrap pieces of metal. Welding i think will save me alot of time and I am excited to learn a new skill. The skull will be no easy task though. I am doing a lot of research right now on the size and shapes of different peoples' skulls. I also am looking up diseases or different kinds of trauma that I could incorporate into the design of the skull.

yay party tommmorrroow

Finally! the semester is over and we have a critique/ food party next class. I am done with two knee joints and a Sarah Davis inspired tube. One leg is based upon Paget's Diseases and is curved inward alot. Like I said in my last post, My other leg is fully healthy except for a metal knee replacement. I do need help with ideas of what to use for the knee replacement. I was thinking o just cutting out a small piece of sheet metal and burning it up a little bit but who knows if that will turn out good. Anyways, yay party tomorrow.

Ok. I would first like to admit that I am infact pretty confused as of the direction of the rest of my concentration. Since one of my femur bones died out before I could finish it, i think i want to try to distract the view away from the shape and size of the knee joint by adding some metal and making a knee replacement. Bad idea? probably. don't judge me. This knee replacement will resemble a real one like this photo but I will most likely be changing it quite a bit into something cooler. Don't as me what yet because i do not know. But i can promise that it will blow your mind.
