yay party tommmorrroow

Finally! the semester is over and we have a critique/ food party next class. I am done with two knee joints and a Sarah Davis inspired tube. One leg is based upon Paget's Diseases and is curved inward alot. Like I said in my last post, My other leg is fully healthy except for a metal knee replacement. I do need help with ideas of what to use for the knee replacement. I was thinking o just cutting out a small piece of sheet metal and burning it up a little bit but who knows if that will turn out good. Anyways, yay party tomorrow.

Ok. I would first like to admit that I am infact pretty confused as of the direction of the rest of my concentration. Since one of my femur bones died out before I could finish it, i think i want to try to distract the view away from the shape and size of the knee joint by adding some metal and making a knee replacement. Bad idea? probably. don't judge me. This knee replacement will resemble a real one like this photo but I will most likely be changing it quite a bit into something cooler. Don't as me what yet because i do not know. But i can promise that it will blow your mind.

Sçapŭla+Clāvïcŀe= bro, let us chill

My third project that is due tomorrow is the righ and left collar bones and shoulder blades. I think they turned out pretty well so far (they are still greenware). Luckily though neither of these both play a role in the alteration of other bones inspired by birth defects. Which brings me to my next point: I think I only want to focus on bone birth defects in my skeleton rather than also including just breaks and prosthetics. I think this will be more impactful and more interesting than a skeleton just with like a broken arm and screws in its head.

Sapula+Clavicle= yes

So far, I have sculpted my fingers hands, forearms and upper arms. This all will complete two of my three required works of art to be turned in on DEC> 17th. My third project will be a pair of collar bones and shoulder blades (right and left scapluli and clavici). In order to join ALL of my bones together, I will be poking sets of holes into every bone will the clay is still tangible. I will then join them all with black wire once it is completely done. Tomorrow in class I have to finish poking these holes and i think I am going to intentionallly break one arm (the arm that does not show signs of arthritis in its hand). Overall i am very excited about my work even though some of my next few projects (rib cage, skull, vertebrea..) will be an enormous challenge

arms?

I have finished the hands! now to finish the actual arm bones. last class I finished the LEft and Right Radii and ulnas (The two bones that make up the forearm). Tomoorrow My goal is to make both right and left humerus bones (the upper arm bones). This may take a good amount of clay so I do have to keep that in mind for the future. For my third project due before the break I am going to make both left and right shoulder blades (scapula) and collar bones (clavicle).
<----- So together it will all look like this!

yeeeeeeees

So in order to not just have a boring old skeleton as my final finissssshed portfolio, I going to make each peace unique by either disfiguring it with inspirations from a disease like rhuematoid arthritis or by incorporating injuries such as breaks or by incorporating bone transplants. My first project is on the hands and arms. i want to have at least one broken arm, arthritis in one have and the other hand either have six fingers or broken bones, or like two webbed fingers.

DuDe

Yo so my two projects that I hope to finish by the end of his month arm simply two skeletal human arms. This is definately something to shoot for and, quite possibly, not do-able but Damnit I'm going to try to finish them both in time. Both are made out of ceramic and will be proportional to life size human arms. To make my concentration and pieces more interesting, I will be ' breaking', harming, decaying, etc.. different parts of my limbs to add personality.
